This self-guided tour combines Japan's main highlight destinations with a two night stay in the glorious Kiso Valley. The Kiso area offers spectacular views of the natural scenery where you can soak in the spiritual, tranquil atmosphere this area is so famous for.
Walk part of the ancient Nakasendo pilgrimage trail between the two post-towns Magome and Tsumago. Along the trail you will find spectacular views of Japan's countryside, English signage and a few small tea houses where you can take a break from the hiking if needed. The Nakasendo trail is easy to moderate level of difficulty and takes 2-3 hours to complete.

From Odawara Station board the Hakone Tozan Bus for Hakone-machi and get off at Hakone Hotel-Mae bus stop (55 min). Your accommodation at the Hakone Hotel is right outside the bus stop. Make sure you visit the hotel's volcanic onsen (hot spring) which is a perfect way to relax after a busy travel schedule.
