Day 16: Kumano Kodo

Check out of your accommodation and leave your luggage to be transferred to the next accommodation.

From Yunomine Onsen, board a bus at 08:50 which arrives at Hitari at 09:23.

At 10:00 you will take a traditional boat tour along the traditional route used by pilgrims between Hongu Taisha and Hayatama Taisha. The tour in the flat bottom wooden boats takes approximately 90 minutes.

Visit Kumano Hayatama Taisha, the second of the grand three Kumano Shrines.

After lunch, board a bus from Shingu Station to Kii-Katsuura Station. (36 mins)
