Check-out of the Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu and from Matsue Station board a Limited Express Yakumo train to Okayama Station. (160 mins) Change trains and board a JR Marine Liner train from Okayama to Takamatsu Station. (60 mins)

After check-in, visit Shikoku Mura (08:30-17:30/JPY1,000), an open-air museum which exhibits a number of historic structures, dating from the Edo and Meiji periods, which have been relocated from areas across Shikoku Island. Amongst the structures are a number of farmhouses, workshops, a kabuki theatre and a vine suspension bridge.
To get there, board a Kotoden Kotohira Line train from Takamatsu Chikko Station to Kawaramachi Station. (5 mins) Change trains and board a Kotoden Shido Line train to Kotoden Yashima Station. (15 mins) Shikoku Mura is a five minute walk from here.
